Bought the Weil knee walker because I had to have both feet operated on, and I KNEW how painful it could be. I am unable to use crutches because of some previous surgery and had seen a teenager using one at church. Because I would need it over a period of time, I decided to buy one then sell it later on. It has been a lifesaver. I literally don't know how I would have gotten to the bathroom the first few days after surgery without my "scooter". It handles and steers easily and turns on a dime on hardwood floors or tile. Carpet is a bit more challenging. I am 5'8" and weigh only 125 lbs and still maintain that I could not have gotten around without it. After 11 days, I am now using a cane and orthopedic boot around the house but still use the scooter if I have to go any distance. The only disadvantage is that it is heavy; I cannot lift it in and out of a car or up and down steps, especially with a boot on. My husband is no weakling and still uses 2 hands. That is the only downside. Also, I love the basket on it, which saves me loads of extra trips up and down the hall. I highly recommend it. The single wheel in the back is a great idea too. You'd be surprised at how often it wouldn't fit into a place if it had 2 wheels in the back. Shop around as prices for the same thing can vary greatly. I got mine for $289.
