(More customer reviews)Following foot surgery, I am 8 weeks non-weight-bearing. I tried a rolling regular walker but it was too hard on the wrists. An office chair was too hard to come to a standing position. A different knee-roller's turning radius was so large I could not use it in the house where I needed it most.
This RollerAid turns tightly and easily, weighs less and the handlebars do not wobble alarmingly. The cute basket comes off for really tight space maneuvering. Handles carpet, tile, vinyl, concrete, icy sidewalks, door sills, but not stairs or escalators. It is solidly made and folds down for easy transport. We rented it from a medical supply store.
On the negative side, the brake cords stick out in front and get caught on cabinet hardware, and the wheels are on the small side so they get caught in elevator doors. You have to be able to bear weight on your knee and also have decent balance. But this knee roller is light years better than crutches.
In summary, I can't imagine getting along without it. I'm really happy somebody invented it.
