First, I had a pair of knee-highs in a top-selling expensive brand before these (not sure I can name names hehe) and these are comparable in terms of how well they work. I think the 'brand name' ones were tighter but they both did a good job of keeping the swelling down. I've had these a few months now and they are also comparable to the other one in terms of durability. As a Black person though, the biggest plus for me is the colour. I don't remember the shade I had in the other brand but it was the closest I could get and it was still really obvious. I only wore them because I had to. But I got the Taupe in these and they can pass for regular stockings. Obviously, if you look closely the texture is not the same as regular stockings but I dont feel self-conscious in these at all! ... and last but not least, the price - because I wear these for medical reasons I guess I would have paid whatever price I had to, but the cost of these just sweetens the deal :)
