(More customer reviews)My knee has been injured in a car accident and several times snowboarding. I am a very active person, running half marathons, training in boot camps and kick boxing. If I landed wrong, my knee would "wobble", sliding laterally and becoming re-injured. I have tried 4-5 other knee braces, most of which are the compression style. I have IT band and other tendon issues, and the compression style braces caused more friction on my tendons and would aggravate my injury more.
This brace has been great. It is super-durable and strong, and very comfortable. I have been able to use it for all my different styles of working out, and it doesn't slow me down. I did notice that over my longer runs it altered my stride a bit, but I was also nursing the weaker knee.
My knee is better, but I always keep this brace around for all my kickboxing or any other lateral-movement training that might compromise my knee. A good investment!
The only down side has been that the way the velcro rests on my thigh, it rubs a hole in the opposite leg of my pants during my longer runs. I don't think this would be a problem under normal use.
