Freedom Leg Off-loading Walking Brace Review

I have a broken ankle and will be on crutches for more than 8 weeks. As an option to free up my hands to do things around the house, I purchased the Freedom Leg Off-loading Walking Brace. Upon receiving the brace, I found out it would not work with the cast I have on my leg. The cast ends below my knee but the bulkiness of the cast made my leg not fit properly in this brace. I'm 5'6" and weigh 150 lbs so don't feel I'm such a large person that this device shouldn't work for me. Two days after receiving the brace, I contacted the company to initiate a return and explained why this device would not work for me. Their only response was "this is a non-returnable item" and "we only sell and ship this product to doctor and physical therapists". I replied that I'm neither doctor or PT but they did sell and ship to me without any questions. I explained again why I couldn't use this device, asked if we could meet halfway and asked why it's non-returnable. Nothing about the product was personalized for me. Their response again was "this is a non-returnable item". Don't make the mistake I did of buying this product from Forward Mobility and ending up with a costly unusuable product from a company who has no desire to work with its customers or even explain their policies. Other companies that offer crutch alternatives (e.g. Hands-Free Crutch) also offer to accept returns.
