(More customer reviews)I picked up this reusable ice pack for my knee but I have also used it for my back. It works well for both and is flexible enough to be wrapped around just about any body part so I recommend it overall. It does have some downsides though.
1) I've never had to use it for more than 2 hours but even after that time its mostly thawed out, I can't see it going for more than 4 hours at a time. Maybe I just have hot skin.
2) The pouch also has issues; it looks basically like a velvet envelop but the closure is only a single square of Velcro in the middle of the flap so the corners can stick out (and they are pointy). On top of that its Velcro holding strap is a bit on the short side. I'm an average size male with only a 34 inch waist and the thing is pretty tight if wrapped around the body (to ice the back, lets say), larger people might find it downright painful.
3) The worst problem of all is it started to leak after about a dozen uses. When you fold it it develops these little cresses in the plastic and they get pin holes in them after awhile. It doesn't leak much when cold but if they should form don't let it completely thaw out or you might lose half its fluid. God knows how you would refill it
Overall its an OK pack, I picked mine up for 20 bucks on sale at a local pharmacy so if you can get it around that price or less go for it. Anything more and you'll be paying to much.
