It is also very comfortable, and easy to put on and adjust. I wear a Mueller Knee Sleeve on my left knee to prevent injury, and one on my right knee over a Mueller Knee Sleeve. The combination is just right.

OTC ORTHOTEX Knee Support with Stabilizer Pad Review

(More customer reviews)Comfort-wise, this support does not feel much different than open-patella neoprene supports with one main difference - it is breathable. I like this because the support is much cooler to wear in the summer. Also, the "stabilizer pad" seems to provide a bit more pressure immediately around the kneecap. This is good for me because it seems to push swelling out better.
I realize people wear knee supports for a variety of reasons. My reason is that I have mild swelling around the knee cap. After wearing this support for a week or so, the swelling was markedly reduced. I feel the support is quite comfortable. I don't wear it 24/7. I sleep in it and wear it for brief periods (a few hours) during the day. I have been able to sleep in this support much longer than other supports.
I find neoprene too hot and sometimes just uncomfortable after a few hours. The elastic ones aren't very comfortable even that long. Ones that offer comfort, often don't provide much pressure. Also, this support seems to stay put while up and walking as well as any I have used.
I have had one of these supports for about 3 weeks. So far, this is my favorite one, by far.

I went to Futuro's website and measured my knee and found that medium was my recommended size so I bought this one. It's a little snug pulling it on over my calf, but it fits much better during the day - hardly ever have to adjust it, which I did more often with the large sized one.

(More customer reviews)Amazon is about the cheapest you will find these. After paying upwards of $40/pair from local pharmacies I was happy to find them on Amazon. I've previously ordered the same brand, style, and size through an Amazon reseller and was satisfied.
For a big guy like myself, these tend to last about 2 months before they're to stretched out to maintain the proper compression. I use 2 pairs (alternating days) for about 4 or 5 months before they're pretty much useless. Around the forth the month the upper band starts to get really irritating around the knee as well as stretched around the ankle and it's time for new ones.
Be careful putting these on if you pull them up to hard the heel support tends to rip and then they're uncomfortable the whole time you have them. I always rip at least 1 out of each pair.
Aside from that the best way I've found to clean these is just to wash them with ivory soap while you're in the shower and hang dry over night. I know that's not the recommended practice but I haven't seen any negative effects doing it that way.

(More customer reviews)It's pretty basic. It wraps around your knee and holds it in place. I'm 67 and walk 5 miles a day (ran for 35 years until my knees started hurting). I also work out in my gym and use this for my "leg days!" Old bones and cartilage tend to fall apart and wander around the knee. This holds it in place. Sort of like a girdle for the knee. It does what it's supposed to do!

(More customer reviews)I bought this knee sleeve for my daughter to run in (cross country). I measured her leg around her knee (11") and ordered a large (should fit 10-12"). She found it rather loose and it looks that way to me as well. Another reviewer thought the item ran small though. Anyway, with it being loose it is hard to say how well it supports. My daughter found that the ace bandage we were using felt more supportive than the knee sleeve since it was snugger. For the right fit it's probably fine; make sure you measure your child's leg and, like I said, the 10-12" large was a little loose on a leg just under 11". Hope that helps.

They slide on and velcro into place easily. The packaging clearly states for ages 5 - 8; the little lady these are meant for is 10, and will outgrow these quickly. She loves the feminine colors, so we'll keep them. I would have bought something geared for her age group, so I've learned a lesson about reading descriptions and asking in advance.

Knee Immobilizer Comfor Knee Brace Universal 20'' Length Review

(More customer reviews)I am on amazon to purchase a different set of knee immobilizers. I have these and don't want to use them anymore only because they take so long to put on and take off. (My son sleeps with them every night.) First, the velcro straps are very long and keeps sticking to each other while you are trying to fasten each one. Second, each strap has to go through a plastic loop and is then pulled back on itself and then wound around the leg. This process can take about 5 minutes per leg. It might not sound like much but if I have to take them off in the middle of the night, the straps all stick to each other and it becomes a disruptive process. This is not the case with other brands that have elastic straps with velcro only at the end.
Having said all of this, for someone who is walking around and hard on the brace, and needs something really solid, this is the one. Once it's on you are not moving your knee - regardless of size or height. Hence, rating of 4 stars.

ACE One Size Adjustable Knee Stabilizer Review

(More customer reviews)During an auto accident, the ligaments of my knees became hyperextended, making it difficult to walk or workout. I'd used a simple Futuro knee brace that worked well, but could not find it again in stores or here on Amazon, so I tried this Ace model. The Ace knee brace has three straps (all with velcro): one around the knee, one above, and one below. The middle strap fastens directly behind the knee (in the bend). This strap is 2-1/2 to 3 inches wide. It's impossible to fasten in a manner that prevents the velcro from scratching. Also, the strap is so wide that it interferes with the simple act of walking (especially going up or down steps). Loosening doesn't help because you lose compression and thus the stabilization needed. The remaining two straps are really long and will wrap around your leg several times, making it suitable for larger people. I expected the lower strap to stabilize the joint where the tibia and fibula meet just below the knee; it didn't. That joint remained painfully stressed during movement. I paid full price for this knee brace and it didn't help me at all. The slightly less expensive, simply designed Futuro (a neoprene brace that was tight and didn't slip) worked much better in that it kept the knee joints tight and relatively pain-free and allowed normal movement when walking on flat surfaces, on inclined surfaces, and up and down steps. I give the Ace product a 2 rather than a 1 because it may work better for someone else's particular situation.
