Phiten Aqua-Titanium Knee Support, Black Review

Phiten Aqua-Titanium Knee Support, Black
Average Reviews:

I believe I'm becoming addicted to Phiten products. I should say right off the bat that I own a Phiten necklace, two knee supports and a bracelet (thanks Amazon coupons!) My first Phiten purchase was on a whim - Amazon had one of those "spend $xx.xx, get $x.xx off all Phiten products". I did a little (tiny) bit of research online, and I figured that I've got an messed up shoulder, what can it hurt to try? I really didn't think these things worked - I figured they were more magnetic mumbo-jumbo being sold by pitchmen. After wearing my necklace for a few hours, oddly enough the ache in my shoulder was less noticeable. Take the necklace off; and the ache came back full force.
I've attempted to follow an exercise routine lately, but having a bum shoulder and knees that aren't in great shape sort of hamper that effort. When I saw that Amazon was again running a Phiten sale and that Phiten now had knee supports, well I figured I needed to give it a try.
First off, Phiten products are not a miracle cure-all. If you've had cruciate ligament surgery or arthritis or something along those lines, you will not suddenly feel like a spry 5 year old again. However, you may feel about as good as when you take an aspirin for the pain. That being said, these supports aren't very "breathable," so while it does hug the knee pretty firmly, you probably won't want to keep them on longer than you have to.
Secondly, using the term "support" is stretching it a bit. These knee supports are about the equivalent of wearing a tight spandex knee brace. If you're hoping that these things are going to keep you upright when your knees go jelly, you're looking at the wrong item.
What these will do - and the reason I gave them four stars - is give you a gentle "helping hand" in the area of knee support, and mitigate a little bit of the discomfort, which is all Phiten really says it does.

Tru-Fit Elasto-Preene Knee Support, Black, Small/Medium (Pack of 2) Review

Tru-Fit Elasto-Preene Knee Support, Black, Small/Medium (Pack of 2)

I like that you get 2 of them. I only need the support on my right elbow. Having 2 allows me to always have one ready to wear. What I really like about these is that they are very comfortable to wear while providing me with enough support that I can use my elbow without pain. I am very petite and small boned and the sleeve in the small fits me perfectly- not too tight or loose. I wear the support when I lift weights and garden. Today I wore one for over 2 hours while gardening. It was so comfortable that I forgot I had the sleeve on. I was able to pull weeds and move mulch without discomfort to my right elbow. My arm was did not get hot and it was over 80. A definite keeper.

This is a good, lightweight knee immobilizer. It's nice & stiff without the bulkiness of the kind with the locking hinges. It does tend to slide down a little, but I made not have it adjust right.

Mabis/DMI healthcare Elevating Leg Rests, Blue Review

We are pretty happy with this purchase. My main complaint is that the product is not 10" high like they claim (more like 7.5" high)...even though I called to clarify this with the company prior to purchase. I was hoping that it would expand a little once I took it out of the plastic wrapping but it did NOT. The width is great. Will continue to use it since it is nonrefundable.

Aircast Cryo/Cuff System-Large Knee & Cooler Review

Aircast Cryo/Cuff System-Large Knee and Cooler
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I'm recovering from an ACL reconstruction. My health insurance wouldn't pay for a Cryo Cuff, but I bought one anyway. I'm happy that I did.
The way it works is that you load the cooler with ice and water. Then put the cuff on. Raise the cooler above the cuff and ice water runs from the cooler into the cuff. If it feels like it's not cold enough, lower the cooler and the warmed water runs from the cooler into the cuff. Raise the cooler and fresh ice water runs back into the cuff. The cooler should be about a foot above the cuff. I've set the cooler on a table or suspended it from a hat rack while icing.
Pros:
It's easy to ice 6, 7, 8 times a day
Efficient use of ice; 7 lbs last me almost3 days
No mess
No dealing with plastic bags of ice, towels, and Ace Bandages.
It's possible to disconnect the cuff from the hose and walk around while icing. The connection automatically closes so you only get a couple of drips of water
Cons:
The cuff seems expensive for what it is.
I got the large cuff, even though I was within the range for the medium cuff by a few inches. The extra size makes it much easier to ice over the bulky post-op dressings

I purchased these compresion stockings for my husband as per his doctors orders. Since he is a "big and tall man" we had difficulty finding the XXL size locally. The fit, the quality, and the price are all great!

I got a great price for a pair of "Jobst for Men 15-20mmHg men's knee high socks. I don't know what I received but it was not Jobst For Men. I've been wearing these for years and I know the product very well. The seller didn't even include a box with the socks - just a plastic bag. You get what you pay for, I guess.

Jobst SensiFoot Diabetic Crew Sock Review

Jobst SensiFoot Diabetic Crew Sock
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I have mostly appreciated these socks. The price is reasonable, they are soft and comfortable, and they are supportive without making your legs feel squeezed. They do get a bit warm and sweaty sometimes. The top band is mostly very good - not too tight, not too loose. The socks stay up very well - they never turn slack even after many washings. However, the top band has a tiny elastic edge that can leave a red line across your skin after many hours. This tiny elastic edge is not uncomfortable nor does it affect circulation. To avoid developing the red line, I either fold the top edge down or occasionally I wear the socks inside out. For me a pair lasts about a year and then wears out at the heel (I land on my heels pretty hard). I am buying more of these because overall they are very good to have in your pressure-sock collection.

Tru-Fit Aerated Knee Stabilizer, Black, One Size Fits All Review

Tru-Fit Aerated Knee Stabilizer, Black, One Size Fits All
Average Reviews:

I'm not the most svelt of creatures but I'm not gargantuan huge, either. At the most, this fits a 'large' size leg but not by much. Add in swelling, and this leg brace is a nightmare. It's ill fitting around my kneecap (which I injured - thus the need for a brace), and the velcro (when it doesn't stretch all the way around a swollen knee area) rubs against the skin, directly. Needs to say it fits small, medium, and MAYBE large. Anything beyond that and/or if your knees are swollen? It's not going to work for you. Look elsewhere and buyer beware.

Jobst Relief KNEE HIGH Extra Firm Compression 30-40mmHg Review

Jobst Relief KNEE HIGH Extra Firm Compression 30-40mmHg
Average Reviews:

I am only 26 with venous insufficiency and have to find compression stockings that don't make me feel like I am wearing grandma stockings. White and tan stockings feel like they are obviously compression stockings to me, I wish that they made these in cute colors or maybe argyle :) but I like them in black and don't think that anyone has ever realized that I am wearing compression stockings. If they fit properly they are VERY hard to put on but that is kinda the point. They have a very comfortable heel and toe box for my women's size 11 feet. They stay up on their own but maybe once a day have to be adjusted to avoid pinching at the ankle. I have several pairs of these in black along with a few other brands but after almost 2 years these are the only ones that have no rips or tears and the elastic is just as strong as it was new. I wash them in the washing machine on a normal cycle with the rest of my clothes but let them air dry and they dry very quickly. When I am on my feet all day wearing these I never have any pain in my legs and would recommend Jobst to any of my patients. (I am also a Registered Nurse.)

Got the straps very promptly and in new condition, as advertised. Have used them and found they help reduce pain in running- but don't eliminate it. Maybe that's expecting too much. In any event, they were worth the price and will be used.

Phiten Knee High Sport Socks Review

Phiten Knee High Sport Socks
Average Reviews:

I use quite a bit of compression items being a runner/triathlete training for marathons. I have been impressed with the way that these socks hold their compression over time. Since I live in the Northeast I appreciate the fact that they provide warmth as well. I ofter wear these to bed to encourage the healing process on shin splints and to prevent the development of stress fractures. I'm 6'1" and they come up over my knee, so I usually fold them down a couple inches when I run, but I like the extra material.
